SERVING SENIORS FOR OVER 100 YEARS For more than 100 years, Senior Services of Stamford has provided referrals, advocacy, counseling, medical transportation, grocery shopping and emergency financial assistance to seniors in the city of Stamford. This year, caseworkers saw 1500 individuals, linking them with the many state, city and federal resources. Almost 550 older adults were helped with emergency assistance for items such as glasses, hearing aids, senior nutrition, prescriptions, utilities, fuel oil and rent payments. For years, families have trusted Senior Services to provide the information they need to ensure that their parents, whether they are 10 or 10,000 miles away, remain safe and healthy at home. AGING AND DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER

Stamford Senior Services was recently named the Aging and Disability Resource Center by the Southwestern Connecticut Agency on Aging and the Administration on Aging. Senior Services will be a single point of contact for seniors and disabled persons seeking information on community and home-based services. The ADRC is part of a nationwide effort to develop a single point of entry for older adults, persons with disabilities, family members and care takers to provide access to services and supports. ADRC’s are designed to help navigate a complex web of community-based, health and long term care supports.

Our mission is to help meet the needs of seniors from all walks of life in the greater Stamford area in a spirit of personal caring and concern. In cooperation with other area organizations and agencies, we strive to enable seniors to live more secure, independent and fulfilled lives.
